Facility Work Adjustment Program
Service Code: 200
Work Adjustment Program assists individuals with a disability in preparing for employment options.
Work is an essential and integral part of life for most adults. It affects self-image, lifestyle, and even the nature and quality of the way we deal with others. Yet for persons with physical or emotional disabilities, there are often many barriers, which must be overcome in order to hold successful jobs. The Work Adjustment Program is one way to assist the trainee in becoming better prepared for obtaining and sustaining employment.
The design of the program addresses a number of areas, which may represent problems or obstacles for the Person seeking successful employment. Some of the areas, which the program focuses on, include:
Upon entry into the program, each trainee is assigned a supervisor who works with the client to identify goals to be reached during the program. Goals are unique to the individual and target those areas, which relate to the person’s ability to be employed. The program operates from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday, the program operates from 7:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. approximating an actual work environment. Because each trainee’s goals are different, the length of the program varies in relation to the nature of the trainee goals and rate of progress toward their achievement.
Each trainee’s progress toward goals is reviewed monthly to ensure that goals are appropriate and the program is effective. Other pre-placement activities include instruction on completion of applications, rehearsal of interviewing techniques, and tips on where to look for job opportunities, information on payroll deduction, etc.
Because the initial period of employment is often difficulty, staff provides follow-up services to assist with any problems that may arise for the trainee or employer.

Supported Employment
Supported Employment is a transitional program designed to aid persons with disabilities in locating and maintaining employment. Our employees are dependable and highly motivated workers who are striving toward their own goals and the chance to achieve success through employment. Supported employment gives the additional assistance and training they need to make it.
Supported Employment is also designed to network with local businesses, discovering labor needs and providing a labor force. The need of manpower for a business can shift on a monthly, even daily basis. Through Supported Employment, we can react by providing trainees who are ready to work in your areas of high turnover, or departments that have had recent changes. We have the flexibility of a labor force and a job site trainer. The job site trainer, or Job Coach, helps to minimize a company’s recruitment cost.
First, we contact the employer to identify labor needs. Second, based on a trainee’s work skills and evaluation, the preliminary job matching takes place at RING. Finally, we present the employer with the best candidate. This eliminates the majority of a business’ hassle of hiring because the future employees are pre-screened. A Job Coach can lower training costs as well. The Coach can tailor instruction to the needs of the employee thereby encouraging a timely rise to competency. The Coach’s responsibility is to guarantee job completion. Our labor force is tremendous; the employees are trained to develop job skills. Their goal is employment.
The Supported Employment Program provides industries with a job site trainer who will come to your site and train individuals with disabilities to meet your needs.
