Congratulations to our Graduates!

We are proud to announce that eight transition students have graduated from the RING program, this session. Half of the students have already secured jobs in the marketplace. We would like to extend our thanks to Tire Barn and J & J Superstores for providing the opportunities for these students to excel in their new careers.

Project Search, a collaborative effort with the Hall County School System, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and RING, also completes its first year by announcing the graduation of seven students from the program. Several of the students are anticipated to begin jobs in the next couple of weeks. The training rotations for students gave a variety of skills for future for employment. Thanks to all supporting parties in Project Search.

Beginning June 1st, 2009, RING will join Dawson County Schools to sponsor a summer work program for junior and senior high school students, in Dawsonville, Georgia, where they will gain on-the-job skills training for six weeks.
Current Projects
New Programs for High School Transition
The program provides class and training at the healthcare or business setting each day during the last year of high school for the students. The Hall County Project Search Program has 7 students with a teacher and two job coaches. Each day the students spend time gaining knowledge and skills for competitive employment. A typical day would include classroom instruction on employability skills and time on worksite rotations. During the year in the program each student will have three different job rotations in different departments of the work setting. The teacher and job coaches support the students through job coaching, and teaching independence in a work setting. At the end of the school year the students are ready for employment opportunities.
If you would like to know more about the program please call 770-535-7464.
